Weekly Gem #261, A tail of tree art
Published 9/4/21
Location: This hidden gem is located at the intersection of Spruce and 6th Streets in Anaconda, MT (see the Clue Me! Map).
Very few places have fish in trees, but in Anaconda, Montana you can see one for yourself. Actually you can find a fish, an eagle, an owl and a raccoon - all in the same tree! The fish seems to be taking the Eagle Express to dinner, where the racoon may collect some leftovers. The owl's thinking, 'whoo's hungry?'
An artist used a dead tree for a blank slate. Look up to see eagle wings where the tree branches once spread, and a big rainbow trout heading for the last roundup. The cleverly carved the raccoon peeks out on one side of the tree and its butt pokes out the other side. Be sure to walk all around the tree to see the menagerie!
