Why It's Interesting
This is an amazing sculpture. Three nurses and a badly wounded soldier. I don't know what the sculptor saw, but this is what I see. One nurse is fighting like hell to keep the young soldier's name off the Wall. A second nurse is gripping her elbow, by force of will telling her to "Hang on, the chopper's coming." A third nurse holds an empty helmet, and conveys a terrible sadness for the ones she couldn't save. It is worth a good, long, look.
